How It Works

MemPort is a simple Chrome Extension that lets you export and import your ChatGPT memory — securely, instantly.

Follow the steps below to back up your AI's memory in just a few seconds.

1. Install the Extension
  1. Search for MemPort in the Chrome Web Store and install it.
  2. Click 'Add to Chrome'
  3. After installation, you'll see the MemPort icon in your browser toolbar.
  4. To view your installed extensions, visit chrome://extensions/.
2. Open ChatGPT and Go to Memory Settings
  1. Go to https://chat.openai.com
  2. Click your profile image (top right corner).
  3. Select 'Settings'.chatgpt settings image
  4. Go to the 'Personalization' tab.
  5. Click 'Manage' in the 'Memory' section to open the 'Saved memories' modal.
3. Export Your Memory
  1. With the memory modal open, click the MemPort icon in your browser toolbar.
  2. MemPort will automatically scan the number of memories that can be exported.
  3. Click the button that says 'Export to File'.
  4. The extension will scan your memory and download it as a .csv file.
4. Import Your Memory
  1. Open a new ChatGPT window with the account you want to import to.
  2. Upload the .csv file you downloaded from MemPort.
  3. Type a prompt like 'Please memorize the contents of this file'.
  4. Once you see 'Updated saved memory', import is complete.

  1. The CSV file contains each memory entry's title and description.You can open it with Excel, Google Sheets, or any text editor.
